2009 COPEAM-ASBU training projects

Last 2-3 October, the 2009 meeting of the ASBU Training Centre Consultative Committee was held in Damascus. The Director General of ASBU, Mr. Salaheddine Maaoui, and the Director of the Centre, Mr. Taleb Kadi Amin, have welcomed some representatives of ASBU broadcaster members’ training departments and international partners such as COPEAM, EBU, CFI, and Deutsche Welle Akademie.

The 14th General Assembly of COPEAM was held on the 18th May 2008 in Bucharest, in the framework of its15th annual Conference.

3RD EDITION OF COPEAM UNIVERSITY

Following the great success of the editions of Ghardaïa (2005) and Sétif (2006), the « 2007 COPEAM University » took place in Oran (Algeria) from 10th to 17th March.

The University is an original “format” created by COPEAM under the aegis of ENTV, and represents a unique experience of training in Mediterranean and in Europe : young professionals from the two shores of the Mediterranean and from Arabic countries get together during one week to produce a TV magazine and a radio magazine, while discovering the synergies between different audiovisual languages, and comparing methods and different sensibilities.

2ND EDITION OF COPEAM UNIVERSITY

In Sétif (Algeria), last 5th March, Mrs Khalida Toumi, Minister of the Culture in Algeria, Mr Hamraoui Habib Chawki, ENTV Director General and COPEAM President, Mrs Alessandra Paradisi, COPEAM Secretary General, Mr Bedoui Noureddine, wali of Sétif, have opened the 2nd COPEAM University, that has gathered together about 80 television & radio journalists form the Northern and Southern countries of the Mediterranean region and also furthermore, thanks to the synergies with ASBU – Arab States Broadcasting Union.

8th–11th May 2002: “Media in the Mediterranean as Factors of Dialogue and Peace”. The Conference, held on the invitation of the Algerian television (ENTV) and under the High Patronage of the President of the Democratic and Popular Republic of Algeria, Mr. Abdelaziz Bouteflika, gathered about 600 participants among professionals and representatives of the cultural and institutional sectors. 28-31 March 2001: the meeting, held once again in Thessaloniki (the Intergovernmental Conference of ThessaloniKi took place in 1997), was focused on the topic: “Mediterranean identities: the issues at stake and the responsibilities of the Media”.
