COPEAM joined the project MedMedia, an EU funded action conducted by a consortium led by BBC Media Action, aiming at creating a favourable environment for media reform in the southern Mediterranean region, with a particular emphasis on legislation, regulation, programming, supporting strategies in the transition process of these media to a real public service mission.
In this framework, COPEAM is in charge of setting up a multilateral "peer-to-peer" exchange activity to strengthen the capacity of eight public broadcasters - EPTV and EPRS/Algeria ERTU/Egypt JRTV/Jordan PBC/Palestine Radio Tunisienne/Tunisia SNRT and 2M/Morocco TéléLiban/Lebanon - in favour of gender equality and women's empowerment in the internal policies of these organizations.
The action will be develop over a period of 9 months, during which three high-level experts will follow group of beneficiaries each, through three group sessions (opening, mid-term and closing) and remote monitoring work (mail, phone, Skype, other).
The aim of this activity is to define common obstacles and challenges, highlighting similarities between organizations so to identifying areas of feasible and sustainable improvements for each recipient peer. Thanks to a mutual-learning process between the peer, the broadcasters having shown good practices will share their experience so to set up concrete and relevant solutions.Read the report on the project results
