About the World Food Day :
Each year, on October 16, FAO - Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations - organizes the World FoodDay, which commemorates the date of its creation in 1945. This year the event will focus on food security in times of crisis, to focus on the fact that the global crisis hit with full forces smallholder farmers and rural areas, where the 70% of the people suffering hunger in the world live and work.

Keywords of thismobilizing initiative are "Imagine" and "Get involved ". Indeed, the WFD objectives are to increase public awareness on the problem of hunger in the world to encourage all countries to pay more attention to agricultural production and encourage further efforts in this sense at national, bilateral, multilateral and non-governmental levels; to promote technology transfer in the developing countries ; to strengthen solidarity at national and international levels to fight hunger, malnutrition and poverty, and attract the attention on the results obtained in food and agricultural development; toincite the involvement of the rural population, especially women and the least privileged categories, in decisions and activities influencing their living conditions; to encourage economic and technical cooperation among developing countries.
