Further steps in improving the awareness about the Media key role in the promotion of a multicultural
society: COPEAM has been invited in order to present its activities as an example of cooperation between mainstream media and multicultural projects, during the seminar «The Media and the Others: representation and discrimination », that took place in October 24th in Turin (Italy), during MELTING BOX: International Fair on Rights and Equal Opportunities for All, an initiative organized in the framework of 2007 European Year of Equal Opportunities.
Journalists and media professionals have considered the seminar - promoted by Regione Piemonte, in collaboration with Europe Direct Centre of Provincia di Torino, Paralleli (North/West Euro-Mediterranean Institute) and the ENAR (European Network Against Racism)- as a great opportunity to share experiences, to compare information techniques and to talk about the role that multicultural media have in improving the idea of an active citizenship in Europe.
