On 20 October 2011, the partners and associates of Med-Mem gathered in Rome on the occasion of the 4th coordination meeting of the project, organized by RAI and COPEAM.

This meeting allowed assessing the different activities over the project 3rd year. The latest data on the Back Office feeding in terms of documentary notes and videos were pointed out and the respective deadlines were recalled. The setting up of the editorial work of the researchers focusing on Med-Mem archives, further to the meeting of the authors held in Marseille last 14 September, was announced. The latest IT developments of both the Back Office and the Front Office of the website were also illustrated, as well as the best practices manuals undergoing finalization.

The new communication tools (totem, trilingual poster and book mark) were presented; they could be used to ensure the project visibility and to facilitate the establishment of the dissemination network for the website, engaging cultural institutions such as libraries, museums, Universities etc.

Regarding Med-Mem website sustainability, a debate took place focusing on the business plan and the economic elements proposed for the website sustainability through the circulation of the collected archives.

Finally, the partners and associates delivered the signed Med-Mem Charter “Memorandum for the preservation of the audiovisual heritage in the Mediterranean region”, hence committing themselves to do their utmost to ensure the Mediterranean audiovisual heritage is handed down to future generations.
