Terramed Plus: looking forward

In the framework of Terramed Plus project, over 34 months, seven Mediterranean public televisions worked in close cooperation with a view to contributing to a greater circulation of audiovisual works and to the development of a regional audience. Indeed, these objectives were at the centre of the Euromed Audiovisual III Programme, co-funder of this initiative.
During two seasons, Terramed Plus proposed - via the digital and satellite channels Raimed and Rainews24 - a weekly promotional teaser of the programmes broadcasted by the television partners, thus portraying the Mediterranean through a shared mosaic-programming schedule.
Terramed Plus is now the first video-on-demand web platform offering a free streaming of Mediterranean documentaries, TV series and movies, subtitled in Arabic, English and French. Users visiting www.terramedplus.tv, whose number is growing as the platform is fed with new contents, have the possibility, with an easy click, to plunge into the stories and cultures of the Mediterranean.
Beyond such quantitative results, this initiative, led by RAI and developed with the international coordination of COPEAM, features strong innovative aspects, both editorial and technological. Thanks to Skylogic support, technological partner, as well as to the synergies developed among all the partners, a cooperative work system was established, facilitating networking and know-how exchange among the professionals of the region.
On 17 December 2013, Terramed Plus partners met in Beirut, invited by Téléliban - associated partner - to assess the results obtained in the framework of this action and discuss its possible future developments. On the occasion of a press conference, the shared will to keep this experience going on even after the end of the European funding was expressed. In fact, the web platform is still alive and therefore the next challenge for the partners is to explore all the opportunities allowing to ensure its sustainability.
Watch the documentaries and fiction films from Algeria, Morocco, Italy, France and Spain subtitled in original language, French, English and Arabic!
