Meeting of COPEAM Commissions’ Presidents

Rome, 2 December 2014

International cooperation, synergies among the Commissions, communications, funding…
These are the main issues the Presidents of COPEAM Commissions looked into during such an essential meeting.
Gathered in Rome on 2 December 2014, the Presidents first presented the activities carried out within each Commission. Then, they exchanged on the Commissions’ life and on the future of COPEAM.
Sharing the concerns of the Secretary General, they reaffirmed the necessity, in a moment when the cooperation is losing importance for the decision-makers, to revise priorities and to count on the quality of COPEAM projects.
In this perspective, it is fundamental to reinforce the links and the synergies between the different Commissions, an approach which had been already launched following the last meeting of the Presidents and consisting in identifying the activities to be jointly realized, also relying on the competencies of each Commission.
The aspects related to communication were judged essential for the optimization of the Association action, in terms of exchanges between and with the Commissions and of enhancement of the tools, so that information, ideas and proposals can circulate efficiently.
Finally, as for the funding of COPEAM projects and activities, the diversification of the sources and the fundraising initiatives to be launched in each country belonging to the Association were considered as a main concern.
