COPEAM was invited to take part in the IDS ACADEMY training & networking event, held in Palermo from 15 to 19 September 2015, and organised by Doc/it, the Italian Documentarists’ Association. The meeting brought together the representatives of some important European training programmes in the documentary field - Documentary Campus Open Training Session, ESoDoc/ZeLIG Documentary School and Documentary in Europe’s Matchmaking - and included two debate sessions about the role of the short documentaries and the relevant potentiality for the international coproduction, with a particular focus on MENA countries: an exchange of ideas between the guests from all over the region, who contributed to new and creative solutions in designing, producing and marketing short documentaries or experimented with different forms of collectivism, cooperation and/or cross-Mediterranean co-production. In this framework, COPEAM presented its international coproduction model and, in particular, the COPEAM-ASBU Inter-Rives experience.
