Marrakech 09/12/2010

Around ten journalists gathered in Marrakech, during two separate workshops, in order to start the new Kantara radio format and to launch the second co-production series planned in the framework of the Waves for the Mediterranean programme (WfM).

Upon the invitation of the ESAV – member of the WfM consortium – the producers of Kantara gathered in Marrakech to test and improve the new format of the programme, previously defined during the Tunis and Algiers workshops. Along with the producers from ENRS/Algeria, ERTU/Egypt, Radio Tunisienne, Radio France/FBFM and SNRT/Morocco, two new broadcasters were represented : PBC/Palestine and RTVE/Spain. In the framework of this workshop and in parallel with the Marrakech International Film Festival, a pilot episode of Kantara was recorded on “The city of Marrakech”.

A couple of days later and still upon invitation of ESAV, the journalists participating in the new co-production series of the WfM programme gathered to define the different approaches of this series’ episodes devoted to cinema and to debate on the editing and dubbing techniques.
The series – realised through the contribution of eight radios members of COPEAM (Radio France/FBFM, ENRS/Algeria, Radio Tunisienne, SNRT/Morocco, HRT/Croatia, MKRTV/Macedonia, PBC/Palestine and RTSH/Albania – should be achieved by June 2011.
