The 31st edition of the International URTI Grand Prix for Author’s Documentary set a new record of participation with 255 documentaries presented by international television channels representing 72 countries. The URTI thus confirms its place at the first rank of international audiovisual Grand Prizes.
The pre-selection Jury meeting in Paris from April 23 until 26, 2012, selected the ten programmes which got the statute of finalist:
Argentina : Footprints on the Water - Canal Encuentro - Boy Olmi
Belgium : Chernobyl, 4Ever - RTBF - Alain de Halleux
Burundi : En attendant le retour des Eléphants - RTNB - Léonce Ngabo
Canada : Tin City Voices - Humber FMTV - Elijah Marchand
France : Stéphane Peyron : Le Voyage à l’Envers - Planète+ Thalassa - Stéphane Peyron
Greece : Sayome - ERT - Nikos Dayandas
Palestine : Jerusalem Calling - PBC - Raed Duzdar
Philippines : It’s Time - GMA Network - Rember Gelera & Rowena Raganit
Spain : Dimanche à Brazzaville - TV3 - Enric Bach & Adria Monès
Switzerland : Le Juge et Les Mineurs - RTS - Dominique Clément
These finalist programmes will be viewed from June 9 until 11, 2012, by a final Jury, made up of professionals from about twenty countries, in the framework of the Monte Carlo Television Festival.
The ceremony announcing the results of this Grand Prix, endowed with 5,000 Dollars, will take place on Monday, June 11 at the Hermitage Hotel (Monte-Carlo).
