ICO is an approach that aims to support and stimulate the definition and implementation of concrete solutions to the major challenges Islands, Coasts and Oceans are facing in terms of conservation and sustainable development.

ICO also means bringing together all the stakeholders involved in preserving ecosystems: public organizations, associations, experts, scientists and economic actors, to combine expertise and perspectives. ICO Solutions relies on collective intelligence and interdisciplinarity, bringing together all these actors to imagine and experiment solutions, share best practice and attract funding.

Launched in 2021 by the Rhône – Mediterranean – Corsica Water Agency, the Conservatoire du Littoral (French Coastal Protection Agency), and the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the patronage of the Ministry of Ecological Transition, this approach is based on different activities:

• Workshops to brainstorm and share experiences: in the form of thematic webinars
• Training in islands, coasts and oceans conservation and management: the COGICO MOOC
• A platform for connecting companies and associations: Pataclet
