THE NEW TV COPRODUCTION “INTER-RIVES” IS ABOUT TO START


The 9th edition of “Inter-Rives”, the long standing TV coproduction promoted by COPEAM and ASBU, was recently launched. Through a call for participation spread in February 2022, public broadcasters from the two networks have been invited to join the project and take part in two professional workshops for the production – by each of them – of one documentary of 13’ on the main series’ topic.

COPEAM & TAL: the Mediterranean encounters Latin America


Since September 2019, when the partnership agreement between COPEAM and TAL – the Union of public and cultural channels of Latin America – was signed, mutual involvement initiatives between the two networks have not stopped multiplying. Participations in TV co-productions, in communication campaigns and in the respective events have become regular appointments in the last three years.

RAI, COPEAM and ASBU together for audiovisual archives


From 14 to 17 December 2022, a training workshop on the digitization of AV archives brought together in Rome around twenty managers and technical experts from public broadcasters of the Balkans and the MENA region: HRT/Croatia, RTCG/Montenegro, RTK/Kosovo, MKRTV/North Macedonia, BNT/Bulgaria, PBS/Malta, RTSH/Albania, PBC/Palestine, Télévision Tunisienne/Tunisia, TVR/Romania, EPTV/Algeria, Libya Sports Channels/Libya.

The event was organized by Rai with the support of COPEAM and ASBU. Participants could benefit from the expertise of professionals coming from different RAI’s departments, namely the Centre for Research, Technological Innovation and Experimentation – CRITS, Rai “Teche” (archives) department and Rai ICT.

“Effective Reporting on Migration” – international training workshop for journalists


Belgrade (Serbia), 20-22 February

From 20 to 22 February 2023, an international group of journalists with prior experience on reporting migration gathered in Belgrade, Serbia, for a three-day capacity building action. The workshop was organized by COPEAM in the framework of the EU co-funded project E3J – European Excellence Exchange in Journalism (Creative Europe Programme – CREA) and with the intention of fostering cross-border collaboration.

Capacity-building action for journalists

The call for participation to the first training activity for journalists to be organised by COPEAM in the framework of E3J project is now open.

A specialized training for European journalists on how to effectively report about migration-related topics will be composed of a preliminary on-line module and a workshop. The 3-day workshop will be held in Belgrade (20-22 February 2023), hosted by our broadcaster member RTS Serbia, and will be open to max 20 journalists from EU and candidate countries.

Deadline for submission is 20 January.

COPEAM radio co-productions are back on air in the Mediterranean for the 24th season of Kantara and the 11th of Mediterradio. About forty episodes will be co-produced by the two teams throughout 2023, with the establishment of leading partnerships with major events in the region at the end of 2022 (Film Festivals, FAO, COP27, ICO Solutions, Mediterranean Day). 

Moreover, in the last months, journalists from our radios’ network have covered several Mediterranean events such as the Film Festival Arte Mare in Bastia, the Mostra de València in Spain, the70th anniversary of the GFCM – General Fisheries…

Radio Romania projects to mark one year of war in Ukraine


Radio Romania Culture is launching the second edition of the Prayer for Peace campaign, a year after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which turned into a war that destabilized the whole world.

 The message of this campaign will be read, like last year, by the poet Ana Blandiana, a symbol of Romanian freedom, a writer who transmitted, exactly one year ago, the first message of peace through a short fragment from the preface of the book Last Witnesses by the Ukrainian – born writer, Nobel laureate in Literature, Svetlana Aleksievich.
