ICO Solutions – Collecting witnesses: “Another view on the Mediterranean”


In parallel with the next IUCN World Climate Summit (Marseille – autumn 2021), COPEAM is joining forces with the organizers of ICO Solutions (an international meeting dedicated to the challenges of the preservation of coasts, islands and oceans) to collect witnesses from users of the Mediterranean aimed at the production of a series of 3-minute video clips from the entire basin.

COPEAM joins IFAD in the framework of the Sicilymovie – Agrigento Film Festival


28-31 July 2021 – Valley of the Temples of Agrigento (Italy)

The Sicilymovie – Festival del cinema di Agrigento (Sicily) is a festival of short films, documentaries, video clips and animation shorts, that will take place from 28 to 31 July in the extraordinary archaeological park of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento.

The festival’s main partner is the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), member of COPEAM.

“Reporting climate change” – the 2021/2022 edition of the e-learning course for journalists


The new call for candidatures for the “Reporting climate change” online training course is open to journalists from the Middle East, the Balkans and all the African countries.

(deadline: October 7, 2021 – beginning of the course: November 2021).

MEDITERRANEAN MEDIA IN MARSEILLE FOR ICO SOLUTIONS

In parallel with the IUCN World Conservation Congress, COPEAM (Permanent Conference of the Mediterranean Audiovisual Operators) will be in Marseille for the ICO Solutions meeting, intended to support and promote concrete solutions to the major challenges related to the preservation and sustainable development of islands, coasts and oceans.

A two-level participation is foreseen, with the media coverage of the event and the presentation, in preview, of a series of audiovisual witnesses dedicated to users of the Mediterranean Sea.

The participative training on “Gender Equality in the Media” came to an end


The 2nd module of the participative training on “Gender Equality in the Media” – funded by the Council of Europe through the North-South Centre – ended successfully.

This practical workshop focused on the cross-media production techniques and smart forms of journalism and aimed to improve participants’ skills to use new technologies to cover gender-sensitive issues.

Two media experts accompanied the trainees throughout 5 interactive learning sessions dealing with different aspects – both technical and editorial – related to mobile reporting.

In the framework of the 5th edition of the 2021 ERN-MED Prize devoted to “Media and Science: the importance of reliable information in the face of false news“, the SNRT has been awarded for the best news item of the Mediterranean News Exchange (ERN-Med) – “COVID19 Fighting fake news” – assigned by COPEAM with the support of UNESCO.

The winning short report, produced by the journalist Mariam Benzekri, deals with the phenomenon of the spread of false information during the Coronavirus pandemic and its impact on public health and safety, highlighting an associative and citizen media…

FRAME Access 2021 (online training): call for applications


INA, in partnership with FIAT/IFTA (International Federation of Television Archives) and the EBU Academy (European Broadcasting Union), has launched the call for applications to FRAME Access 2021, a training program co-funded by the European Union under Creative Europe MEDIA.

The FRAME Access 2021 sessions are dedicated to European and international professionals working in the safeguard, management and access to audiovisual archives and will take place online on June 3-4 and 7-9, 2021.

Applications are open until May 13 2021.
