On February 20 and 21, ASBU and COPEAM brought together in Tunis the co-producers of the new radio series dedicated to ancient and contemporary arab philosophers.
The meeting provided an opportunity to collectively define the cooperation and editorial frameworks for this unique podcast series.
This ambitious project gathers 15 public radio broadcasters from Europe and the MENA region: Algeria – Egypt – France – Irak – Jordan – Lebanon – Mauritania – Morocco – Palestine – Qatar – Saudi Arabia – Soudan – Spain – Tunisia – Turkey.

“RADIO bridges – Joint actions for the climate”
Radio plays a vital role in educating, raising awareness and mobilizing on climate issues. As part of the 2025 World Radio Day and with the support of UNESCO, COPEAM is launching the first edition of the international contest: Radio bridges – Joint actions for the climate.
The competition aims to promote and support exchanges between radios around the world that encourage local and global solutions to this planetary emergency, while emphasizing collaboration, innovation and the promotion of intercultural dialogue.

Upon COPEAM’s proposal, on 30-31 January 2025, TRT – Turkish Radio and Television Corporation hosted in Ankara an international training on the topic “Digital Media Broadcasting: news, content creation and social media strategy”.
The training, open to COPEAM broadcasting members from the MENA and the Balkans’ regions, involved a group of 15 beneficiaries from the news and digital departments of: BNT/Bulgaria, EPTV and EPRS/Algeria, ERT/Greece, HRT/Croatia, JRTV/Jordan, PBC/Palestine, RTK/Kosovo, RTS/Serbia, Radio Romania and TVR/ Romania.

The entire team of Mediterradio – The voice of the Islands gathered in Marsala, Sicily, for the 38° Parallelo cultural Festival, to cover the event as .

In the framework of the 2025 Prix Italia Competition, a new Prize has been established in collaboration between Prix Italia, COPEAM and URTI: the Global South Award.
The prize is dedicated to broadcasters and productions from countries part of the UN-defined “Global South”, and aims to promote and offer visibility to video documentary productions that stand out for the innovation and universality of their content, to facilitate the spreading of original perspectives and insights.

The closing workshop of Inter Rives 10, TV coproduction project promoted by COPEAM and ASBU took place in Tunis on February 11 and 12, 2025.

The International URTI Grand Prix for Author’s Documentary rewards documentaries which stand out by the technical and editorial quality, but also by the originality of the subject and of the expressed point of view. It favours the expression of the humanistic values of tolerance, mutual respect, peace, friendship and understanding between peoples. The programmes accepted in the competition are selected by international television channels. A jury establishes the list of the ten programmes which get the statute of finalists. URTI is launching its call for entries for its 44th International URTI Grand Prix for Author’s Documentary.
Be ready to participate!
– The URTI competition is open free of charge to any TV channel or cultural organisation/association/institution which devotes itself to the audiovisual media- URTI Grand Prix Award: 500$ (five hundred dollars)
– Programmes should be entered in their original version- A script of each programme must be provided either in French or in English if the proposed version is not in one of these two languages
– The files of the programmes will be sent via internet
