2020 ERN-Med Prize winners

COPEAM is glad to announce the selection results of the 2020 ERN-Med Prize – devoted this year to the topic “Changing societies: communicating the Mediterranean diversities”:

Lisbon, 10-11 October 2018

On the occasion of the 4th edition of the Women4Mediterranean High Level Conference on women’s socio-economic empowerment – which took place in Lisbon on October 10 and 11 – COPEAM was media partner of the Union for the Mediterranean, ensuring the presence of journalists of its network from both the north and the south of the Mediterranean, for the event coverage.

Around the theme “Women build inclusive societies in the Mediterranean”, this edition brought together more than 300 participants from more than 30 countries, including prominent personalities active in the field of gender…

Bonn, 14-17 November 2017

Following two theoretic training workshops (in Tunisia in 2015 and in Morocco in 2016), that were aimed at providing the journalists involved with the basic notions concerning the climate change and the environmental challenges at the heart of the different international conferences on climate, this year the partnership between COPEAM and the European Investment Bank evolved into the creation of a transnational newsroom to ensure the media coverage of the COP23, the UN global conference on climate, which took place in Bonn (Germany) from 6 to 17 November 2017.

Marseille, 17 June 2016

Aside a series of events devoted to the media in the Mediterranean – debates, workshops, conferences, seminars, shows – the Villa Méditerranée/AViTeM organised last June 16 and 17 in Marseille, gathering audiovisual and press journalists, experts, artists, associations and institutions from the whole region, COPEAM, in collaboration with the EU-funded MedMedia project,  held a roundtable and a professional meeting devoted to journalism training in the southern shore of the Mediterranean basin.

#OPENMYMED – Kantara

Marseille, 19-22 May 2016

In the framework of the agreement signed with the Villa Méditerranée of Marseille, COPEAM set up with MMMM (Maison Méditerranéenne des Métiers de la Mode) a media partnership for the radio coverage of #OPENMYMED, the Mediterranean Fashion Biennale gathering the 2016 laureates of the Mediterranean Fashion Prize for a 3-day conferences, professional meetings, fashion shows and exhibitions.

The journalists of Kantara met on this occasion to record to special episodes, one on the stage and the other in immersion during the event. This meeting was also the occasion to welcome Radio Liban…

The closing conference of the Balkans’ Memory project was held in Sarajevo on 19 November 2014. It celebrated three years of training and know-how and good practices’ exchange aimed at supporting policies for the preservation, the digitisation and the promotion of the audiovisual heritage in the Balkans’ region. On that occasion, an assessment on the activities carried out within the project was presented, based on three main areas: training and networking, research and sharing of resources and means, fundraising and funding opportunities.

News Exchange Commission

The News Exchange Commission builds its activity around the Mediterranean regional exchange ERN-Med, which was created in 2002 from the need – born within COPEAM news exchange commission – to enhance intercultural knowledge between the Northern and Southern shores of the Mediterranean. 

Managed by the EBU-Eurovision central desk in Geneva and coordinated by the Algerian national broadcaster EPTV, the ERN-Med allows its public TV members to mutually draw on a varied Euro-Mediterranean agenda, as well as to offer a diversified number of news of regional interest dealing with cultural events – festivals, religious feasts, traditional celebrations, international conferences, etc.

COPEAM is a non-profit association devoted to the promotion of dialogue and cultural integration in the Mediterranean Region, throughout the involvement of the major players of the audiovisual sector, among which the public service radio and TV broadcasters from 26 countries in the area, besides professional and cultural associations, institutions, higher education institutions and specialization structures, independent producers and local authorities of Europe, Balkans, North Africa and Middle East.
