Creating exchange, comparison, cooperation among radio-TV broadcasters, organizations and professional associations of the audio-visual sector, press agencies, inter-governmental institutions, international organizations and non-governmental associations, cultural and research institutes, universities, independent producers of the North and the South of the Mediterranean.
Creating an inter-cultural, inter-professional Euro-Mediterranean «collective know-how».
The annual Conference
It is a consolidated appointment for professionals of the Euro-Mediterranean audiovisual panorama, capable of involving and intertwining -through dialogue- the world of media, culture and institutions. From Algiers to Seville, from Cairo to Palermo, from Casablanca to Tunis: these, and many others, are the venues that have embodied and promoted the Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
International events
Today COPEAM, thanks to the active cooperation of its members, not only participates in the most important world fora on Euro-Mediterranean audio-visuals and culture, but enlivens international talks and conferences dealing with crucial issues for the development of the Region. In this sense, in 2005, within the new complex international media scenario, COPEAM started analysing and debating on issues regarding the professional deontology, the balance between freedom of expression and responsibility of information.
To this respect, a major achievement took place on 7 May 2005, on the occasion of the Annual Conference of the Association, i.e. the presentation of the Seville Charter: a Charter of Media deontological Principles, undersigned by numerous radio and television broadcasters, open to the signature of all the radio and TV organizations that share its spirit.
