The Société Nationale de Radiotélévision of Morocco wins the 2021 ERN-MED Prize

In the framework of the 5th edition of the 2021 ERN-MED Prize devoted to "Media and Science: the importance of reliable information in the face of false news", the SNRT has been awarded for the best news item of the Mediterranean News Exchange (ERN-Med) - “COVID19 Fighting fake news” - assigned by COPEAM with the support of UNESCO.

The winning short report, produced by the journalist Mariam Benzekri, deals with the phenomenon of the spread of false information during the Coronavirus pandemic and its impact on public health and safety, highlighting an associative and citizen media initiative concerning the fight against fake news through the “Tahaqaq تحقق” platform.

The ERN-Med Prize is endowed annually by an international Jury made up of representatives of COPEAM, of ASBU-Arab States Broadcasting Union and EBU-European Broadcasting Union, based on a number of selection criteria such as that the editorial importance of the subject, the journalistic treatment, the technical quality (shots, editing, sound quality, international track and duration), the Mediterranean regional interest of the treated subject and its potential in terms of reuse by others member channels of the exchange.
