COPEAM prize to the documentary “Tiny souls” and launch of a new TV co-production on “Stories of Refugees”

A workshop COPEAM - Prix Italia - Limes on "The point of view of the South: the media reporting stories of refugees and of displaced people", took place on 20 September in Turin, in the framework of the 66th edition of Prix Italia. The session was moderated by Lucio Caracciolo, director of the Italian geopolitical magazine "Limes". Among others, Roberto Zaccaria, President of CIR - Italian Council for Refugees, Sondès Ben Khalifa, journalist at the Tunisian Radio, Mustapha Bennabi, Director of International Relations of the Algerian television EPTV took part in the debate.


The roundtable, enriched by various videos on the subject, was followed by the awarding ceremony of COPEAM special prize "Refugees’ Stories: Glances from the South", delivered by COPEAM Secretary General, Pier Luigi Malesani, to the Jordanian film makerDina Naser for her documentary "Tiny Souls": a story on Syrian refugees within the Jordan's Zaatari camp told by the children protagonists of the film.
Thereafter, Pier Luigi Malesani announced that in 2015, COPEAM will launch a co-production of documentaries on stories of refugees, to be carried out in collaboration with public televisions in the Mediterranean region.
