Final event of “Generation what? – Arab version”

Last October, the EBU organized a roundtable in Brussels to present the outcomes and the impact of the “Generation what? – Arab version” regional survey on the media and audiovisual policies in the South-Mediterranean countries. 
In this unique survey, thousands of young people aged between 18 and 35 years describe their living conditions, voice their opinions on society, discuss their aspirations and fears relating to a wide range of subjects, such as personal relationships, studies, work, leisure, obligations, private life, political outlook.

The European Audiovisual Observatory represents a unique information source on the audiovisual sector in Europe. Part of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France, the Observatory is a public service organization created in 1992 with the aim to collect and distribute information about the audiovisual industries in Europe while promoting greater transparency and a clearer understanding of the ways in which the audiovisual industries function, both from an economic and legal point of view. “See it. Name it. Stop it”: The Council of Europe takes stand against sexism

In March 2019, the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers adopted a new Recommendation on Preventing and Combating Sexism. Not only does this text contain the first ever internationally agreed definition of sexism, but it also proposes a set of concrete measures to combat this widespread phenomenon.  Last week, with the aim to promote the fight against sexism and the implementation of this Recommendation, the Council has launched a video and an action page under the hashtag #StopSexism and the slogan “Sexism: See it.
